This is a genuine opportunity for a Legal Secretary to join a well-established, supportive legal team. You’ll be reporting to a supportive and professional Head of Department, who rose through the ranks from a secretary. That should tell you everything about how much progression is supported here.
You’ll be working closely with a group of fee earners and fellow secretaries, supporting with a broad range of tasks including:
- Typing legal documents and correspondence (audio/copy typing using digital dictation software)
- Managing diaries, deadlines and appointments
- Handling post, phone calls, client queries, and third-party chasers
- Organising and maintaining electronic and paper filing systems
- Preparing legal bundles and documentation with pinpoint accuracy
- Opening and closing files properly, following compliance procedures
- Getting involved in day-to-day office tasks
Expect a varied role that touches all parts of a commercial property transaction. The pace is fast, deadlines matter, and if you’re sharp, proactive, and don’t need your hand held, you\’ll thrive.
What You’ll Need:
- Solid MS Word and IT skills
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Proven secretarial or admin experience (doesn’t have to be legal, but legal is a plus)
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks under pressure
- Resilience, attention to detail, and an ability to follow through
- Previous experience in property or commercial law
- Working knowledge of legal processes or documentation
- An understanding of legal forms, third-party correspondence, and case file prep
