Due to continued success and a strong pipeline of work for 2025, our client, based in Leicestershire, is actively recruiting for an experienced Estimator to join their close-knit team.

About Our Client:

Our client is an independent, privately owned specialist fitout and refurbishment contractor with a growing reputation in the industry. They specialise in the public sector, education, and commercial sectors, handling projects up to £6m in value, either on a negotiated or competitively tendered basis. They enjoy a high level of repeat business and are looking to expand their team due to business growth.

Role: Estimator

Location: Leicestershire (office-based)

Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 plus £4000 car allowance

Benefits: Company pension, free on-site parking

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare quotations via manual quantification\’s, markups, and take-offs of drawings and pricing.
  • Review all costs, finalize preparation, and issue quotations ready to send to clients.
  • Liaise with the Sales team, providing consultation and guidance regarding the feasibility of each project.
  • Manage the supplier RFO process.
  • List all clarification and exclusion notes clearly and concisely to ensure clarity for both internal colleagues and external customers.

Essential and Desirable Skills:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Estimator in a similar role within the construction industry (main contractor experience is highly desirable).
  • Skills:
  • Good commercial awareness
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good numeracy skills and highly competent in Microsoft Excel with the ability to analyse, report, and explain data accurately
  • Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
  • Collaborative approach with colleagues in estimating and other departments
  • Experience with standard operating procedures and methods within the construction industry
  • Familiarity with contractual terms and conditions commonly applied by Main Contractors
  • Ability to understand marked-up drawings and BOQs
  • Knowledge of ERP and CRM systems
