Please note:
- A Valid SIA is required for this role.
- You will need to apply for a basic DBS to start this role.
Whatβs on Offer:
- Day or Night shifts available full time.
- A significant amount of Adhoc work is available across the SWR network.
- Free transport provided across the Southwestern Rail Network for all of your shifts at any station.
- Rate of pay: Β£13.10 per hour.
- Night shift Example: 18:00 β 06:00 or 22:00 β 06:00.
- Day Shift Example: 06:00 β 18:00 or 06:00 β 14:00.
- Shifts are a minimum of 8 hours.
- Part time, Casual/ad hoc and Full-time roles.
- Weekly Pay (every Friday).
- Temp to Perm (performance-based).
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough security walks, to detect prohibited items and potential threats.
- Locate placed Network rail tags to demonstrate a secured station walk has been completed.
- Engage in constant vigilance and stay up to date with the latest security procedures and regulations, always ensuring compliance.
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting passengers with their queries, offering guidance, and creating a welcoming and stress-free environment.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with rail staff, and other security personnel to maintain a cohesive and efficient operation.
- Handle security incidents and emergency situations with professionalism, remaining calm under pressure and taking appropriate actions to ensure the safety of all.
- Assist with the implementation of crowd control measures during busy periods, maintaining order and ensuring a smooth flow of passengers.
Requirements:
- You must hold a valid SIA licence.
- A positive, customer-centric attitude with a genuine desire to create a pleasant experience for all airport visitors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm and aid in stressful situations.
- Experience in a security or customer service role, preferably in an airport or similar environment.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail to effectively identify potential security risks.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations and adhere to strict security protocols.
- Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods and perform routine security tasks.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends.
- Must be over 18.
