Aviation Recruitment Experts Optime are seeking an experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to join a restaurant at Manchester Airport. This is an incredible opportunity to work with a well-known, dynamic brand, in a fast-paced, high-footfall environment where no two days are the same.
What's on offer:
- Rate of pay: DOE £29,600 to £38,500 per year plus TRONC
- Shift pattern: Full Time
- Up to 48 hours per week
- Hours per shift: 8+ hours per shift
- Weekly pay (Every Friday)
- Full training provided
- Temp to Perm after 12 successful weeks
- Immediate Start date after passing 2nd interview.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Restaurant Manager in the smooth running of a busy, branded restaurant within the airport terminal
- Guide, coach, and energise your team to deliver consistent and exceptional customer service
- Take hands-on responsibility across service, kitchen, and admin functions during shifts
- Assist in achieving P&L targets, KPI goals, and maximising profitability while controlling labour and waste
- Ensure strict compliance with Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, and Licensing Laws
- Maintain accurate records, oversee daily cash handling, and support stock and inventory control
- Act as a role model, demonstrating high standards of communication, organisation, and problem-solving
- Confidently deal with escalated customer issues and adapt to operational challenges with ease
- Foster a culture of teamwork, development, and continuous improvement
Shifts:
The Airport is operational 7 days per week, and candidates will be working on a 5 on 3 off rolling rota. Full flexibility is required, as shifts can start as early as 05:00am and finish as late as 01:00am, depending on airport demand.
- 03:00am to 11:00am
- 07:00am to 14:00pm
- 15:00pm to 23:00pm
- 17:00pm to 00:00am
Requirements:
- Experienced in the fast-paced world of high-volume restaurants, with hands-on hospitality management
- Proven ability to hit operational goals, P&L targets, and KPIs
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety, Licensing, and Food Hygiene regulations
- Natural leader and confident communicator, continually refining your leadership skills
- Excellent at multitasking and prioritising in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Valid Passport or Driving Licence / Birth Certificate / National ID card
- You must have lived in the UK for the last 3 years (for airport security clearance)
- UK Settled Status (if applicable)
- Proof of National Insurance
- Proof of (current) address
- 5-year address history
- 5-year work/education/personal reference history
