Are you interested in a career in the aviation sector? Optime are looking for Cargo Security Officers to join a prestigious client at Gatwick Airport. This role is open to applicants who have no previous security experience and a genuine interest in aviation, customer service and security. All necessary training will be fully paid and provided by sector experts including support in obtaining relevant background checks. There is on-site mentoring and clear career pathways leading to specialist management roles within our team.

- Shift times: 2 Day Shifts, 2 Night Shifts, 4 Days Off. (12-hour shifts)

What you'll be doing:
- Access Control: Verifying credentials, screening individuals, and controlling entry to restricted cargo areas.
- Patrols & Monitoring: Regularly patrolling cargo storage, loading docks, and vessels; monitoring CCTV and alarms.
- Screening: Operating X-ray/scanning equipment to check bags, vehicles, and cargo for threats or contraband.
- Incident Reporting: Documenting security breaches, suspicious activities, damage, or policy violations.
- Cargo Handling: Ensuring safe stowage, proper documentation, and adherence to handling procedures for hazardous materials.
- Emergency Response: Participating in drills and responding to security incidents or emergencies.
- Liaison: Building strong working relationships with authorities, ground handlers, and cross-functional departments through clear, consistent communication.
