Aviation Recruitment experts Optime Group are looking for Class 2 HGV Drivers to join one of our prestigious clients based in the Gatwick area. The role offers a fantastic opportunity to build a career within a leading logistics business at the airport.
What's on Offer:
- Rate of Pay: £17.30 per hour
- Shift pattern: 4-on / 4-off (This could be subject to change)
- Shifts: 18:00pm to 06:00am
- Staff parking
- Weekly pay (Every Friday)
- Temp to Perm (performance-based)
- Start date: 23rd March 2026
Key Duties:
- Being part of a team to collect Domestic and Commercial waste in and around Gatwick Airport.
- Consider domestic versus international driving regulation.
- Loading, unloading, and the delivery of goods, collection of returns and empty media delivered back to the consolidation centre.
- Follow customer specific procedures.
- Maintain regular contact with the warehouse management team.
- Count and check all products, compare to manifest and complete a visual check for damage.
- Report any excesses, shortages or damage to the warehouse manager or team leader in a timely manner.
- Secure loads effectively and ensure loads are within the weight limits.
- Complete routine vehicle checks and ops 13 paperwork.
- Comply with appropriate working time legislation.
- Any other reasonable duties and tasks as required.
- Compliance with Tachograph regulations inclusive of CPC training and tachograph operation.
Shifts:
The Airport is operational 7 days per week and candidates will be working on a 4 on 4 off rolling rota. This could be subject to change! An example of the shift hours:
- Day 1: 18:00pm to 06:00am
- Day 2: 18:00pm to 06:00am
- Day 3: 18:00pm to 06:00am
- Day 4: 18:00pm to 06:00am

Requirements:
- Class 2 Drivers who hold a Full UK Driving License.
- You must hold a valid CPC and Digi Card.
- Great understanding of the English language.
- Drivers who are passionate and take pride in their work.
- Must be able to provide 5-year checkable history, in order for us to obtain your blue airside pass.
- Drugs and alcohol testing will be required prior to employment.
