ABOUT OPTIMAX
Founded in 1991, Optimax is the UK’s longest-established laser eye surgery specialist. Since 2024, it has been part of Clínica Baviera Group, combining UK experience with the expertise of one of Europe’s leading ophthalmology organisations.
THE ROLE
Assess patients’ suitability for refractive procedures and provide personalised consultations and treatment recommendations. Perform laser and lens surgery under practising privileges. Deliver preoperative and postoperative care and work closely with a multidisciplinary clinical team.
TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT
Structured opportunities to develop your refractive surgery skills, pursue continuing professional development and further specialisation, and exchange knowledge with experienced colleagues.
INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION
Access to the Clínica Baviera medical network, with opportunities to participate in international meetings and observerships, subject to availability.
WORKING CONDITIONS
A full-time position within an established UK clinical network, offering competitive remuneration, supportive clinical teams and a collaborative working culture. Flexible arrangements may be considered where operationally possible.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualified ophthalmologist with an interest in refractive surgery. GMC registration and a licence to practise must be in place before joining. Excellent clinical judgement and patient communication skills are essential. Previous refractive surgery experience is an advantage.
DESIRABLE, NOT ESSENTIAL
UK-recognised laser refractive surgery certification is an advantage but is not required at the application stage. We welcome applicants who wish to develop their expertise in refractive surgery. All surgical activity is subject to appropriate training, practising privileges and authorisation.
