About the Role
Optimax Access is seeking an experienced Senior Systematic Review Methodologist & Evidence Synthesis Consultant to support and lead evidence generation, HEOR, medical writing, and research projects across pharmaceutical, biotech, medtech, and healthcare sectors. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in systematic literature reviews, evidence synthesis, research methodology, and medical writing within consultancy, HEOR, market access, academic, or healthcare environments. The role is suited to professionals with strong client-facing experience and the ability to contribute strategically to evidence generation programs, HTA submissions, reimbursement projects, scientific publications, and broader healthcare research initiatives. Candidates with experience working in HEOR consultancies, CROs, pharmaceutical companies, HTA environments, evidence strategy teams, or scientific communications are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver systematic literature reviews (SLRs), targeted literature reviews (TLRs), rapid reviews, scoping reviews, and broader evidence synthesis projects
- Design comprehensive and reproducible search strategies across major scientific and biomedical databases including PubMed, Embase, MEDLINE, Cochrane Library, Scopus, and Web of Science
- Apply PRISMA, Cochrane, JBI, NICE, and ISPOR methodological standards across projects
- Support HEOR and HTA projects through evidence generation, clinical evidence assessment, and strategic literature evaluation
- Conduct study screening, data extraction, quality assessment, and evidence appraisal
- Contribute to evidence packages supporting reimbursement, market access, and HTA submissions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including health economists, clinicians, statisticians, market access specialists, and scientific advisors
- Prepare scientific reports, evidence summaries, manuscripts, publications, abstracts, posters, and client deliverables
- Contribute to medical writing activities including HTA documentation, value dossiers, evidence summaries, and scientific communications
- Manage review workflows using tools such as EndNote, Covidence, Rayyan, DistillerSR, or similar platforms
- Maintain methodological rigor, transparency, and audit-ready documentation
- Engage directly with clients and stakeholders to support project delivery and strategic evidence planning
- Support proposal development, methodology discussions, and scientific presentations where required
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MSc, MPH, PharmD, PhD, MD, or equivalent) in Health Sciences, Public Health, Epidemiology, Medicine, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or related discipline
- Strong experience conducting systematic literature reviews and evidence synthesis projects
- Experience working within HEOR, consultancy, market access, pharmaceutical, biotech, medtech, or healthcare research environments
- Strong understanding of PRISMA guidelines and evidence synthesis methodologies
- Demonstrated experience in medical writing, scientific publications, or healthcare communications
- Excellent scientific writing, analytical, and communication skills
- Experience managing multiple projects and working independently within consultancy or research settings
- Strong stakeholder engagement and client communication skills
- Ability to communicate complex clinical and scientific evidence clearly for technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting NICE, HTA, reimbursement, or payer submissions
- Familiarity with health economic modelling and outcomes research
- Experience with meta-analysis, indirect treatment comparisons (ITC), or network meta-analysis (NMA)
- Experience preparing manuscripts, conference abstracts, posters, HTA submissions, value dossiers, or payer evidence materials
- Experience publishing peer-reviewed evidence synthesis research
- Familiarity with AI-assisted literature review tools and evidence automation platforms
- Experience contributing to publication planning and scientific communication strategies
