We are Optimal Maintenance & Construction, part of the Optimal Group. We offer a professional service to a variety of clients from housing associations to high-end estate agents. This could be a carpenter to fit a new door lock, a gas safe plumber to install a new boiler or a full property refurbishment.
The role
We are looking to recruit a dynamic Multi-trader / Carpenter / Builder to join our team. You will be responsible for carrying out property repairs, maintenance tasks and property inspections. You will deliver exceptional customer service and support the Maintenance & Refurbishment team.
What you will be doing
- Visiting properties to diagnose and carry out repairs as per the schedule arranged for that day.
- Carry out basic plumbing (e.g. unblocking drains/gutters, fixing leaks and changing taps/waste).
- Carry out basic electrics (e.g. changing bulbs/fittings, replacing switches or sockets).
- Carry out basic carpentry (e.g. changing locks, handles).
- Carry out basic painting and decorations.
- Carry out basic handyman services (e.g. installation of blinds).
- Carry out full refurbishments (new kitchens/bathroom).
- Travel between jobs in and around London.
- Update jobs via eworks portal ensuring reports are written thoroughly and good quality pictures are taken.
- Where jobs are to be quoted for, provide a report with the materials needed, and time needed to carry out the further repairs along with a description of the issue and the steps needed to rectify the issue.
About you
- You are multi-skilled within the construction trade.
- Ability to carry out basic electrical duties/installations.
- Ability to carry out basic plumbing work.
- Ability to carry out basic carpentry and joinery duties.
- Have your own tool kit.
- Clean valid UK driving licence - we will send check prior to interview.
- Trustworthy and carry out a high standard of work at all times.
- Flexible.
- Ability to diagnose and carry out repairs whilst on site including ability to source materials required.
- Able to prove high standard of work through client references, vetting sites such as check a trade and photos if possible.
