We are looking for a driven and proactive Sustainability and CSR Advisor to join the HSQES team in our High Wycombe office. As part of the HSQES team, this role is responsible for supporting the Environmental and Sustainability functions, and leading Corporate Social Responsibility, throughout the Optima Group. The Sustainability and CSR Advisor will also provide peer support for a team Apprentice, assist with internal Environmental & Sustainability training and support members of the HSQES team when required.

The Sustainability and CSR Advisor duties include:

  • Sustainability
    • Provide Sustainability and CSR support for construction projects
    • Act as the principal business sustainability ‘Champion’
    • Support project tenders and external enquiries through identifying, communicating and responding to client sustainability requirements
  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
    • Grow and develop CSR within the Optima Group globally
    • Manage and develop CSR policies, strategies, procedures and budgets
    • Lead, develop and deliver internal CSR reports in line with the UN SDGs, Social Value reporting platforms and best practices
  • NZC
    • Support the gathering and management of data for NZC reporting with internal platforms and external consultants in line with the GHG Protocol and ISO
    • Assist with the collection, cleansing and preparation of data to ensure good quality data inputs into third-party accounting systems
  • Environmental
    • Assist with the maintenance and continual improvement of the Group’s ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
    • Stay updated on emerging E&S legislation and advise the Group on how to maintain compliance and implement change
    • Support the transition to ISO 14001:2026

The Sustainability and CSR Advisor will need:

  • Environmental or Sustainability related degree (preferably with ‘built environment’ content)
  • Interest in sustainability in the built environment
  • Experience of the construction industry
  • Strong IT skills and a willingness to learn
  • Good MS Excel competency (formatting, formulae, pivot tables etc)
  • Ideally experience in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
