Location: Nottinghamshire

Shift: Nights (Monday - Thursday, 6:00pm - 4:30am)

The Role

An experienced Fabricator / Plater is required to join a leading structural steel manufacturer based in Nottinghamshire. Working as part of a skilled fabrication team, you will be involved in the manufacture of large-scale steelwork for major infrastructure projects across the UK, including bridges, gantries, transport structures, and other heavy engineering applications. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business with a strong reputation for delivering complex structural steel solutions to the road, rail, and transport sectors.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Fabricating and plating heavy structural steel components from engineering drawings
  • Marking out, assembling, and preparing steelwork to required specifications
  • Working with thick gauge mild steel
  • Manufacturing bridge sections, gantries, and associated structural steelwork
  • Carrying out dimensional and quality checks throughout the fabrication process
  • Working safely and efficiently to production schedules
  • Assisting in other areas of the workshop when required

The Candidate

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Be apprentice trained or time-served as a Plater / Fabricator
  • Have previous experience working with thick gauge mild steel
  • Be able to read and interpret engineering drawings with minimal supervision
  • Have experience fabricating heavy structural steelwork
  • Possess a strong work ethic and a commitment to quality
  • Be willing to support other departments when required
