About the Company
Our client is a well-established structural steel manufacturer supplying fabricated components to major construction and infrastructure projects throughout the UK. Due to continued growth and increasing workload, they are looking to recruit experienced Welder Fabricators to join their night shift team. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term position with regular overtime available and the chance to work on large-scale structural steel projects.
The Role
Working within a busy fabrication environment, you will be responsible for welding and fabricating heavy gauge structural steel components to engineering drawings and customer specifications. This role will involve a mixture of fabrication and MIG welding, producing high-quality structural assemblies while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- MIG welding heavy gauge structural steel
- Fabricating components from engineering drawings
- Carrying out multi-run welds on thick section materials
- Producing butt welds and positional welds to specification
- Using fabrication tools and workshop equipment
- Inspecting work to ensure quality standards are met
- Working safely within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Supporting production targets and project deadlines
About You
- Previous experience as a Welder Fabricator
- Experience within structural steel or heavy engineering environments
- Strong MIG welding ability
- Experienced working with heavy gauge materials
- Able to complete multi-run, butt and positional welds
- Competent reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Reliable with a strong work ethic
- Apprentice trained or time served would be advantageous
