Our client is a successful and growing manufacturing business seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead health and safety compliance across their operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams, driving continuous improvement and promoting a positive safety culture. The role also offers future development into wider compliance and management systems responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead health and safety activities across the business
  • Ensure compliance with UK health and safety legislation and best practice
  • Develop and maintain risk assessments and safe systems of work
  • Conduct audits, inspections and accident investigations
  • Deliver training, toolbox talks and safety awareness initiatives
  • Monitor compliance records and statutory requirements
  • Manage contractor safety and site inductions
  • Promote a positive and proactive safety culture
  • Support wider compliance and management system activities

You Will Ideally Have:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification
  • Previous Health & Safety experience within manufacturing, engineering, warehousing, construction or a similar environment
  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation
  • Experience carrying out audits, investigations and risk assessments
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A practical, hands-on approach with strong organisational skills

Desirable:

  • Manufacturing or production experience
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001
  • Experience supporting compliance or Integrated Management Systems (IMS)
