Our client is a successful and growing manufacturing business seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead health and safety compliance across their operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams, driving continuous improvement and promoting a positive safety culture. The role also offers future development into wider compliance and management systems responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead health and safety activities across the business
- Ensure compliance with UK health and safety legislation and best practice
- Develop and maintain risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Conduct audits, inspections and accident investigations
- Deliver training, toolbox talks and safety awareness initiatives
- Monitor compliance records and statutory requirements
- Manage contractor safety and site inductions
- Promote a positive and proactive safety culture
- Support wider compliance and management system activities
You Will Ideally Have:
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification
- Previous Health & Safety experience within manufacturing, engineering, warehousing, construction or a similar environment
- Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation
- Experience carrying out audits, investigations and risk assessments
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A practical, hands-on approach with strong organisational skills
Desirable:
- Manufacturing or production experience
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001
- Experience supporting compliance or Integrated Management Systems (IMS)
