Location: Loughborough

Shift: Monday - Thursday, 7:30am to 4:30pm and Friday, 7:30am - 12:30pm

Pay: £15.00 - £16.50 per hour + overtime

About the Company:

An established manufacturer is looking for a skilled Welder to join their team.

About the Role:

In this role you will be involved in the production of steel fabrication projects and will be responsible for ensuring all team tasks are completed on time, to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Weld metal components according to engineering specifications
  • Able to carry out a flat weld, then set the plant (amps and current) to carry out a vertical up weld
  • Responsible for carrying out all types of MIG welding to high standards using engineering drawings and jig arrangements
  • Be able to set the welding, turning on the plant and gas, ready to do a flat weld (AMPs and current)
  • Operate power tools and hand tools to cut, shape, and assemble metal parts
  • Deposit welds that pass both visual and NDE examinations
  • Be able to read and understand weld symbols on engineering drawings provided
  • Adhering to all related standards associated with welding, including fume control
  • Inspect finished products for quality and make necessary adjustments or repairs
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment

About You:

  • Proven experience as a welder or similar role - at least 5 years' experience
  • Proficient in welding techniques, including stick welding
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Welding & Fabrication
  • CCNSG certification
  • ISO9606-1 qualification
  • Experience in Overhead, Vertical Up, and Downhand welding techniques (PF, PA, P8 + PD)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements
  • Familiarity with power tools, hand tools, and equipment used in metal fabrication
  • Proficiency in MMA 131 welding
  • Basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions accurately
  • Ability to assemble fabricated parts into finished products
  • Experience in 2G Flat / 3G Vertical / 4F Overhead welding is required
