The Role
Senior CAD role leading design delivery and managing the CAD team.
- Chair internal draughtsperson meetings
- Chair joinery DTM meetings with architects and clients
- Support and manage internal and subcontract draughtspersons
- Ensure drawings and models are delivered on time and to EES standards
- Check and approve all project drawings before issue
- Oversee the design process and report progress to the Design Manager
- Maintain documentation including drawing trackers and RFIs
- Coordinate joinery interfaces with subcontractors
- Manage CAD team productivity against programme targets
- Ensure document control processes are followed
- Produce drawings or models depending on project size
- Manage day-to-day design changes and variations
Additional Responsibilities
- Work with internal teams and site teams to ensure coordinated delivery
- Oversee subcontractor design packages and technical coordination
- Monitor cost sheets, design time, and productivity
- Identify risks and ensure design changes are updated in project plans
- Ensure compliance with fire door regulations, CDM/CDP, and health and safety
- Support pre-construction activities including programme and materials
Minimum Requirements
- Proven experience as a CAD Technician, Joinery Draughtsperson, or similar role within the joinery, fit-out, or interior construction industry
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Experience producing manufacturing drawings for bespoke joinery/interiors
- Good understanding of joinery manufacturing methods, materials, and production processes
- Previous experience stepping into or supporting a lead/senior CAD function
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior draughtspersons/CAD team members
