The Role

Senior CAD role leading design delivery and managing the CAD team.

  • Chair internal draughtsperson meetings
  • Chair joinery DTM meetings with architects and clients
  • Support and manage internal and subcontract draughtspersons
  • Ensure drawings and models are delivered on time and to EES standards
  • Check and approve all project drawings before issue
  • Oversee the design process and report progress to the Design Manager
  • Maintain documentation including drawing trackers and RFIs
  • Coordinate joinery interfaces with subcontractors
  • Manage CAD team productivity against programme targets
  • Ensure document control processes are followed
  • Produce drawings or models depending on project size
  • Manage day-to-day design changes and variations

Additional Responsibilities

  • Work with internal teams and site teams to ensure coordinated delivery
  • Oversee subcontractor design packages and technical coordination
  • Monitor cost sheets, design time, and productivity
  • Identify risks and ensure design changes are updated in project plans
  • Ensure compliance with fire door regulations, CDM/CDP, and health and safety
  • Support pre-construction activities including programme and materials

Minimum Requirements

  • Proven experience as a CAD Technician, Joinery Draughtsperson, or similar role within the joinery, fit-out, or interior construction industry
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Experience producing manufacturing drawings for bespoke joinery/interiors
  • Good understanding of joinery manufacturing methods, materials, and production processes
  • Previous experience stepping into or supporting a lead/senior CAD function
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior draughtspersons/CAD team members
