Pay Rate: £14.50 per hour

Shift: 06:00 - 16:15 Monday - Thursday

About the Role:

Our client is looking for a dependable MIG Welder to join their team. This is a permanent role for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work and is looking for a stable position within an established manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will have previous MIG welding experience, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment. Experience working with mild steel and sheet metal would be beneficial. The role will involve welding components and assemblies to required specifications, carrying out visual quality checks and ensuring all work is completed to a consistently high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • MIG welding components and assemblies to required specifications.
  • Welding mild steel and sheet metal components.
  • Working from engineering drawings and weld specifications.
  • Setting and operating MIG welding equipment.
  • Carrying out visual inspections and quality checks on completed welds.
  • Identifying and rectifying basic welding defects where required.
  • Using hand tools and workshop equipment safely and effectively.
  • Maintaining a clean and organised working area.
  • Following company health and safety procedures and production standards.
  • Working as part of a team to achieve production and quality targets.

About You:

  • Previous MIG welding experience is essential.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Experience welding mild steel and/or sheet metal.
  • Able to read and understand engineering drawings and welding specifications.
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Practical, reliable and level-headed approach to work.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable, hardworking and willing to follow established processes.
  • Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts.
  • Previous experience with robotic welding or CNC machinery would be advantageous but is not essential.
