Applicants must have previous CMM inspection experience within precision engineering or a similar manufacturing environment. The rotating pattern includes regular blocks of between two and five consecutive days off: 2 on/4 off, 3 on/2 off, 2 on/5 off, 2 on/3 off, 2 on/2 off and 3 on/4 off.
The Opportunity:
An established aerospace engineering business is looking for an experienced CMM Inspector to join its specialist quality team. You will inspect precision-manufactured components using CMM and manual inspection equipment, ensuring they meet company and customer requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Undertake CMM, manual, visual and final inspections
- Evaluate CMM data and make accurate inspection decisions
- Use hard gauges, DTIs and other manual inspection equipment
- Complete first-off, patrol and final inspections
- Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Develop and improve CMM inspection methods
- Support New Product Introduction projects
- Maintain accurate inspection and quality records
- Report non-conformances and liaise with production and quality teams
- Support 5S, Lean and continuous improvement activities
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous CMM inspection experience
- Background in precision engineering or quality inspection
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings
- Experience working to documented quality procedures
- Strong understanding of inspection and acceptance criteria
- Excellent attention to detail
- Accurate record-keeping and organisational skills
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience within aerospace manufacturing, visual inspection, NPI or inspecting precision-machined components would be advantageous.
