About the Company

Our client is a specialist manufacturer of point-of-sale metal products and display solutions, supplying high-quality fabricated metal products to customers across a range of commercial sectors. They are looking to recruit an experienced Estimator to join their team and play a key role in supporting new and existing customer projects.

The Role

This is a hands-on estimating position responsible for managing customer enquiries from initial specification through to quotation. You will review drawings and customer requirements, determine manufacturing methods and prepare accurate costings for bespoke metal point-of-sale products. Working closely with customers and internal production teams, you will ensure quotations are commercially competitive while accurately reflecting material, labour and manufacturing costs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review customer enquiries, specifications and technical drawings
  • Prepare accurate quotations and detailed cost estimates
  • Calculate material, labour, finishing and manufacturing costs
  • Interpret engineering drawings and CAD information
  • Determine appropriate manufacturing processes and production requirements
  • Liaise with customers to clarify technical and commercial requirements
  • Work closely with production, purchasing and engineering teams
  • Source and obtain material and component costs from suppliers where required
  • Maintain accurate costing and quotation information
  • Ensure quotations are completed accurately and within agreed timescales
  • Support the continuous improvement of estimating processes and cost accuracy

About You

  • Previous experience as an Estimator, Cost Engineer, Sales Estimator or similar
  • Experience within sheet metal, fabrication, metal products, displays, POS or a related manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Experience calculating material, labour and manufacturing costs
  • Good understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Confident communicating with customers, suppliers and internal teams
  • Highly organised with good time management skills
  • Comfortable managing multiple quotations and priorities simultaneously
  • Proactive, commercially minded and able to work independently
