Due to continued growth and investment, they are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Setter Operator to join their machining team on a permanent day shift. The Role
As the CNC Setter Operator, you will set and operate Okuma CNC machining centres to manufacture precision aerospace components to the highest quality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Setting and operating Okuma CNC machining centres.
- Producing complex, precision-machined components for the aerospace sector.
- Changing tooling and making offset adjustments.
- Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings.
- Inspecting components using micrometers, verniers, gauges and other measuring equipment.
- Ensuring components are manufactured within tight tolerances.
- Carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspections.
- Maintaining excellent housekeeping and following all health and safety procedures.
- Working closely with programmers and the production team to maximise machine efficiency.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience setting and operating Okuma CNC machines.
- Experience machining precision components.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong understanding of tolerances and quality standards.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a skilled engineering team.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within the aerospace industry.
- Multi-axis machining experience.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing principles.
