The Role:
As a Universal Grinder, you will be responsible for producing high-quality precision components to tight tolerances. You will set, operate, and monitor Universal Grinder machines, ensuring parts are manufactured to drawing specifications, while maintaining efficiency and minimising scrap.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform precision cylindrical (ID/OD) and spherical grinding to ultra-fine tolerances.
- Set, operate, and maintain J&S machines and Cincinnati Milacron Heald grinders.
- Interpret technical engineering drawings and carry out complex wheel forming.
- Conduct surface grinding using diaforms and Churchill tub grinders.
Skills & Experience:
- Strong background in precision universal grinding across internal, external, and spherical work.
- Expertise with superalloys and nitride-hardened components.
- Advanced wheel forming and profile grinding capability.
- Fully certified in grinding wheel mounting and safety.
