Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Miller Programmer to join their skilled manufacturing team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with advanced CNC machinery, producing complex, high-precision components within a modern manufacturing environment.
The Role
As the CNC Miller Programmer, you will create, develop and optimise CNC programs for complex precision components while supporting production to maintain efficiency and quality.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Programming complex 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC milling machines using Hypermill CAM software.
- Creating new programs from customer drawings and CAD models.
- Optimising existing programs to improve cycle times and machining efficiency.
- Supporting machine setters and operators during new product introductions.
- Selecting appropriate tooling, cutting strategies and machining methods.
- Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings and CAD data.
- Working to extremely tight tolerances.
- Liaising with engineering and production teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
- Ensuring all work complies with company quality procedures and health and safety standards.
- Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience programming CNC milling machines using Hypermill CAM software.
- Strong knowledge of 3, 4 and 5-axis machining.
- Experience producing complex, precision-machined components.
- Excellent understanding of machining strategies, tooling and cutting data.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD models.
- Knowledge of precision inspection techniques and tight-tolerance machining.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within the aerospace industry or another highly regulated manufacturing sector.
- Knowledge of FANUC, Heidenhain or Siemens controls.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
