Our Client: A manufacturing business based in Leicester are seeking a reliable and hardworking Yard Operative to join their team. As a Counterbalance Driver you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of the factory, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operating a forklift (Counterbalance experience and licence required)
- Driving and general labour tasks
- Keeping the yard and factory floor clean
- Sorting waste into the correct containers
- Unloading lorries with sheet materials and organizing storage in the factory
- Loading our own vans and lorries
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Valid forklift operator certification and/or experience
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
- Driving licence
Day-to-day:
- Operating forklifts
- Driving the company van
- Assisting in the loading and unloading of trucks and containers
- Performing basic maintenance tasks
- Ensuring the cleanliness and organisation of the factory yard and storage areas
- Following all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a secure work environment
