The RoleAs a Technical Production Operator, you will work hands-on with automated and semi-automated production machinery, ensuring lines run efficiently and resolving day-to-day technical issues.

Working on a 4-on / 4-off rotating shift pattern across days and nights , this role would suit someone who enjoys understanding how machinery works, identifying problems and getting involved with the technical side of production.

You don't need to be a qualified Maintenance Engineer, but you should be confident working with machinery and have an interest in developing your technical and automation knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate and monitor automated and semi-automated production machineryCarry out first-line fault finding and resolve minor machinery breakdownsComplete machine set-ups, adjustments and production line changeoversIdentify recurring machinery or production faults and support root cause analysisMonitor line performance and help identify causes of downtime or inefficienciesMake basic adjustments to machinery to maintain productionEscalate more complex mechanical or electrical breakdowns to the maintenance teamSupport continuous improvement across production processesMaintain strict food safety, quality and health & safety standardsCandidate Profile: Previous experience operating, setting or troubleshooting production machineryTechnically minded with a genuine interest in machinery and automationExperience carrying out basic fault finding or resolving minor machinery issuesExperience with machine set-ups, adjustments or line changeovers would be advantageousStrong problem-solving skills and an interest in understanding how equipment worksExperience within food, FMCG, automotive, packaging or another automated manufacturing environment would be beneficial but isn't essentialWillingness to learn and develop further technical and automation skillsAble to work a 4-on / 4-off rotating shift pattern across days and nightsThis Technical Production Operator opportunity could suit someone currently working as a Machine Setter, Technical Operator, Process Operator, Machine Operator, Production Technician or Manufacturing Technician who is looking to progress within a highly automated manufacturing environment.
