The Role
- Senior CAD role leading design delivery and managing the CAD team.
- Chair internal draughtsperson meetings.
- Chair joinery DTM meetings with architects and clients.
- Support and manage internal and subcontract draughtspersons.
- Ensure drawings and models are delivered on time and to EES standards.
- Check and approve all project drawings before issue.
- Oversee the design process and report progress to the Design Manager.
- Maintain documentation including drawing trackers and RFIs.
- Coordinate joinery interfaces with subcontractors.
- Manage CAD team productivity against programme targets.
- Ensure document control processes are followed.
- Produce drawings or models depending on project size.
- Manage day-to-day design changes and variations.
Additional Responsibilities
- Work with internal teams and site teams to ensure coordinated delivery.
- Oversee subcontractor design packages and technical coordination.
- Monitor cost sheets, design time, and productivity.
- Identify risks and ensure design changes are updated in project plans.
- Ensure compliance with fire door regulations, CDM/CDP, and health and safety.
- Support pre-construction activities including programme and materials.
Minimum Requirements
- Proven experience as a CAD Technician, Joinery Draughtsperson, or similar role within the joinery, fit-out, or interior construction industry.
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Experience producing manufacturing drawings for bespoke joinery/interiors.
- Good understanding of joinery manufacturing methods, materials, and production processes.
- Previous experience stepping into or supporting a lead/senior CAD function.
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior draughtspersons/CAD team members.
