The Role

  • Senior CAD role leading design delivery and managing the CAD team.
  • Chair internal draughtsperson meetings.
  • Chair joinery DTM meetings with architects and clients.
  • Support and manage internal and subcontract draughtspersons.
  • Ensure drawings and models are delivered on time and to EES standards.
  • Check and approve all project drawings before issue.
  • Oversee the design process and report progress to the Design Manager.
  • Maintain documentation including drawing trackers and RFIs.
  • Coordinate joinery interfaces with subcontractors.
  • Manage CAD team productivity against programme targets.
  • Ensure document control processes are followed.
  • Produce drawings or models depending on project size.
  • Manage day-to-day design changes and variations.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Work with internal teams and site teams to ensure coordinated delivery.
  • Oversee subcontractor design packages and technical coordination.
  • Monitor cost sheets, design time, and productivity.
  • Identify risks and ensure design changes are updated in project plans.
  • Ensure compliance with fire door regulations, CDM/CDP, and health and safety.
  • Support pre-construction activities including programme and materials.

Minimum Requirements

  • Proven experience as a CAD Technician, Joinery Draughtsperson, or similar role within the joinery, fit-out, or interior construction industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Experience producing manufacturing drawings for bespoke joinery/interiors.
  • Good understanding of joinery manufacturing methods, materials, and production processes.
  • Previous experience stepping into or supporting a lead/senior CAD function.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior draughtspersons/CAD team members.
