About the Company
Our client is a well-established precision engineering business supplying high-quality machined components to a range of industries. Due to continued growth and investment in new technology, they are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Offline Programmer Miller Setter Operator to join their machining team.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC professional who enjoys taking ownership of the machining process from programming through to production. Working within a modern machine shop, you will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines, ensuring components are produced efficiently, accurately and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Produce offline CNC programs using ONECNC or Edgecam
- Set and operate CNC milling machines with FANUC controls
- Edit and optimise existing CNC programs
- Select tooling and machining strategies
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Manufacture precision components to tight tolerances
- Carry out first-off and in-process inspections
- Support continuous improvement activities
- Improve cycle times and machining efficiencies
- Work closely with production, quality and engineering teams
- Maintain a safe and organised working environment
- Ensure production targets and delivery schedules are achieved
About You
- Previous experience as a CNC Offline Programmer, CNC Miller or CNC Programmer Setter Operator
- Strong CNC milling knowledge
- Experience with ONECNC or Edgecam
- Experience setting and operating FANUC-controlled machines
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience working to tight tolerances
- Good understanding of cutting tools, feeds and speeds
- Experience carrying out quality inspections
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Positive, proactive and hands-on approach
