About the Company
Our client is a well-established precision engineering manufacturer based in Derby, specialising in the production of high-quality precision machined components for a range of industries. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Miller to join their skilled machining team.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC Miller who is confident programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines from engineering drawings through to finished components. The successful candidate will be capable of producing one-off and small batch precision components to tight tolerances whilst maintaining high quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Programming CNC milling machines using Edgecam CAD/CAM software.
- Setting and operating CNC milling machines.
- Working with Heidenhain or Haas control systems.
- Producing components from raw material through to finished part.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Manufacturing precision components to tight tolerances.
- Carrying out first-off and in-process inspection using measuring equipment.
- Performing routine machine maintenance and daily machine checks.
- Ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to production deadlines.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines.
- Experience using Edgecam CAD/CAM software.
- Good knowledge of Heidenhain and/or Haas controls.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience producing high-precision machined components.
- Confident using measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers and gauges.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
