CNC Turner

Pay: 17.82- 21.17 per hour, negotiable depending on skills and experience
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:30am-4:30pm; Friday, 7:30am-12:30pm
Contract: Permanent, full-time - 39 hours per week

We are recruiting for an experienced CNC Turner to join a well-established precision engineering company manufacturing components for the automotive, aerospace and defence industries.

This role involves vertical turning and boring of low-volume, high-integrity components ranging from approximately 0.6 to 2.2 metres in diameter.

The Role

  • Programming, setting and operating CNC machines
  • Proving out new programmes
  • Machining high-integrity components to precise tolerances
  • Working with nickel alloys, stainless steel, titanium, aluminium and carbon steel
  • Reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings
  • Using workshop measuring equipment
  • Completing in-cycle deburring where required
  • Following route card instructions and completing documentation accurately
  • Carrying out periodic equipment maintenance checks
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes
  • Maintaining a clean and organised working environment

The Candidate

  • Apprenticeship trained, time-served or qualified to NVQ Level 3 or above
  • A minimum of three years' experience within a precision machining role
  • Previous vertical turning or boring experience
  • Experience working to high-precision tolerances
  • Confident working with a wide range of materials
  • Fanuc or Siemens control experience is preferred
  • Experience within the nuclear, power generation or aerospace industries would be advantageous
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team
