CNC Turner

Location: Derbyshire
Salary: 17.82- 21.17 per hour / 45,000- 60,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent, full-time

We are recruiting for experienced CNC Turners to join established precision engineering businesses within Derbyshire, manufacturing high-integrity components across the aerospace, defence, automotive and power generation industries.

We currently have day shift and permanent night shift opportunities available, with salaries and requirements varying depending on the position.

The Opportunities

CNC Turner - Permanent Nights

Salary: 45,000- 60,000 per annum
Hours: Sunday to Thursday, 9:00pm-6:00am

  • Programming and setting DMG Mori CNC turning machines
  • Producing high-quality precision components for the aerospace sector
  • Working accurately to tight tolerances
  • Reading and working from engineering drawings and specifications
  • Ensuring components consistently meet required quality standards
  • Previous aerospace and DMG Mori experience required

CNC Turner - Days

Pay: 17.82- 21.17 per hour, negotiable depending on experience
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:30am-4:30pm; Friday, 7:30am-12:30pm
39 hours per week

  • Programming, setting and operating CNC machines
  • Vertical turning and boring of components approximately (phone number removed) metres in diameter
  • Proving out new programmes
  • Machining high-integrity components to precise tolerances
  • Working with nickel alloys, stainless steel, titanium, aluminium and carbon steel
  • Reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings
  • Using workshop measuring equipment
  • Completing in-cycle deburring and relevant documentation
  • Fanuc or Siemens control experience preferred

The Candidate

Depending on the position, we are looking for candidates with:

  • Previous CNC turning, programming and setting experience
  • Experience within a precision engineering environment
  • Confidence working to tight tolerances and engineering drawings
  • Experience machining high-integrity components
  • Aerospace, defence, nuclear or power generation experience would be advantageous
  • Apprenticeship, time-served or NVQ Level 3 qualifications are preferred for the day shift position
  • DMG Mori and aerospace experience required for the permanent night shift position
