Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Engineer to join the team in Portsmouth.
The Role
This is a varied, hands-on maintenance role supporting manufacturing operations across a busy engineering facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance activities across production machinery and site equipment, supporting both mechanical and electrical systems within a precision manufacturing environment. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in improving maintenance procedures, supporting continuous improvement activities, and helping to minimise production downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across manufacturing equipment
- Fault finding and troubleshooting on mechanical and electrical systems
- Support maintenance and upkeep of CNC and production machinery
- Assist with continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime
- Support general facility and equipment maintenance activities
- Ensure work is completed safely and in line with company procedures
About You
- Experience working as a Maintenance Engineer within manufacturing or engineering environments
- Multi-skilled mechanical and electrical maintenance capability
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience supporting production or CNC machinery
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Proactive, hands-on engineering approach
Desirable Experience
- CNC machinery maintenance experience
- Fanuc or Heidenhain control knowledge
- Precision engineering or machining environment experience
- Continuous improvement or TPM exposure
- Experience using maintenance systems or Microsoft Office packages
