About the Company: This is an established engineering business specialising in bespoke machinery, automation systems, jigs and fixtures, supporting a range of industrial clients across the UK.
The Role: This Mechanical Fitter role involves both workshop-based machine builds and on-site installation work.
Responsibilities:
- Building and assembling jigs, fixtures, bespoke machinery and automation systems
- Workshop-based machine builds (approximately 50% of the role)
- On-site installation and fitting work (approximately 50% of the role)
- Assembly of steel structures such as platforms, walkways and stairs
- Working from engineering drawings
- Supporting installation and commissioning activities
- Occasional working away and weekend work when required
About You:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in mechanical fitting or machine build environments
- Competence with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Experience with motion systems
- Basic understanding of electrical and control systems
- Experience assembling steel structures (not full construction steel erection)
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work alone and be self-motivated
- Flexibility to work away and weekends when required
Licences / Certifications:
- FLT licence - desirable
- MEWP licence - desirable
