The Role

My client is looking for a motivated Junior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their engineering team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early–career engineer who is keen to develop practical design skills while working on real engineering projects under the guidance of experienced engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the design of mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD software
  • Produce and update engineering drawings and basic technical documentation
  • Support senior engineers during concept development and design reviews
  • Carry out simple engineering calculations with guidance and supervision
  • Help prepare bills of materials (BOMs) and design packs for manufacture
  • Assist with prototype assembly, testing, and design improvements
  • Liaise with manufacturing and suppliers as required, with support

About You

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Basic experience with 3D CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or similar)
  • Understanding of fundamental mechanical engineering principles
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Good attention to detail and willingness to learn
