About the Company:
This is a well-established engineering business operating to strict quality, health, safety and environmental standards, supplying precision components and materials to customers with demanding quality requirements.
The Role:
The Quality Inspector will support the day-to-day processing of incoming parts and materials in line with corporate procedures and health and safety guidelines. Working as part of the QHSE team, the role supports customer satisfaction, quality, delivery and cost objectives, alongside industry-specific targets.
Key responsibilities include:
- Verifying components and quantities against purchase orders
- Supporting efficient booking-in processes by liaising with internal departments
- Maintaining accurate record retention and filing in line with corporate guidelines
- Assisting with quality and customer audits when required
- Maintaining good housekeeping standards and a high level of 5S
- Participating in QHSE events and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities
- Supporting training requirements to ensure regulatory and legislative compliance
- Working across materials management areas including kitting, stocktaking and dispatch
- Being flexible to work overtime, evenings and weekends as required
About You:
To be suitable for this Quality Inspector role, you will have:
- Strong experience using hand measuring tools such as verniers and micrometres
- Confidence measuring to micron tolerances
- Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings
- High attention to detail and a methodical approach to inspection
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and respond positively to change
- A reliable, flexible and proactive 'can do' attitude
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Computer literacy with Microsoft Word and Excel (training provided if required)
Qualifications:
Time served apprenticeship in Engineering - preferred
