Job Description

Job Role: NDT InspectorLocation: LeicesterShift: AM, PM, Night Shift RotationPay Rate: £37-£38k per annum (incl. shift premium)

Optima UK have an exciting new opportunity for a an NDT Inspector to work in a well established manufacturing facility in the Leicestershire area.

Responsibilities:

To complete fluorescent penetrant inspection, visual inspection, and dimensional inspection on industrial components in line with strict procedures and specifications.

Daily Duties:

To inspect work, ensuring that strict conformance is metTo sign off batch cards detailing components are in line with specification and meet customer requirementsTo raise any conformance issues and any relevant paperwork in line with Company procedureTo maintain FPI level 2 accreditation as required.First off inspectionsReceipt inspection (validation of parts returning from subcontract locations)Complete conventional and CMM inspection work as an independent over check for partsUnderstand engineering drawings for the purpose of inspectionComplete visual inspection of parts during the inspection process.Undertake airflow Inspection tasks as requiredConsistently achieving all area targets as determined by the Cell ManagerAdherence to all company policies and procedures, including SOX, Code of Conduct and Health and Safety.

Candidate Specification:

Hold a level 2 FPI qualification (desirable)Proven NDT experience (essential)Experience ideally been gained on Aerospace productsA solid understanding of engineering drawings and method specificationsAbility to use conventional inspection equipmentAbility to use CMM machinesA sound understanding of inspection techniques (on a variety of products) and proven engineering experienceExperience of inspecting to tight tolerances in a precision engineering environment Excellent attention to detailWilling to work on a three-shift patternExperience of working in a fast-paced manufacturing Company, with demanding targetsAbility to produce quality work whilst working under pressureAble to work with little or no supervisionExcellent communication skills, and the ability to contribute in a team environment Willing to learn and take on board new skills
