The Dispatch Operative Role:
As a Goods In Operative, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the warehouse, ensuring all incoming deliveries are received, checked, and processed accurately. Working as part of a busy Goods In and Despatch team, you will help maintain stock accuracy and ensure materials are available to support production and dispatch operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving and unloading incoming deliveries safely and efficiently
- Checking deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes
- Inspecting goods for damage or discrepancies and reporting any issues
- Booking stock into the warehouse management system
- Labelling and storing stock in the correct warehouse locations
- Supporting stock control and inventory accuracy
- Assisting with container unloading when required
- Supporting both Goods In and Despatch operations as required
- Operating Counterbalance Forklift Truck (essential)
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment
- Following all health & safety procedures at all times
About You:
- Previous experience in a Goods In, Warehouse Operative, or Stores role
- Experience checking and booking in deliveries
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence (essential)
- Strong understanding of stock control and warehouse processes
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a positive attitude
