The Role As an EDM Operator, you will be responsible for operating EDM machinery to produce high-quality, precision components for the aerospace sector. Makino EDM experience is preferred, although candidates with experience operating other EDM machinery will also be considered. Key Responsibilities Operating EDM machinery to produce precision components. Setting and operating EDM machines safely and efficiently. Loading and unloading components. Following engineering drawings, CNC programmes and work instructions. Setting tooling, workholding and machine parameters where required. Monitoring machining processes and making adjustments as necessary. Carrying out dimensional and visual inspection of components. Using precision measuring equipment to ensure components meet specification. Identifying and reporting quality or machining issues. Working to tight tolerances and aerospace quality standards. Maintaining accurate production and quality records. Working efficiently to meet production requirements without compromising quality. Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment. About You We are looking for an experienced EDM Operator with a strong understanding of precision machining and a quality-focused approach. You will ideally have: Previous experience operating EDM machinery. Makino EDM experience would be highly advantageous. Experience with other EDM machines will be considered. The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Experience working to tight tolerances. Experience using precision measuring equipment. A good understanding of machining processes. Strong attention to detail. A quality-focused approach. The ability to work independently and as part of a skilled manufacturing team.
