The Company:
We are currently recruiting for a Stores Operative to join a well-established precision manufacturing business supplying high-quality components into the aerospace, defence and electrical sectors. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing manufacturer where you'll develop your skills within a busy stores and precision engineering environment. You'll play an important role in ensuring stock and components are accurately received, stored and issued to production.
The Role:
Following a training programme, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day running of the stores department and ensuring a smooth flow of goods between stores and the shop floor.
Duties will include:
- Receiving stock into stores from inspection and the shop floor.
- Booking parts onto the stock system and allocating suitable locations.
- Ensuring stock is correctly identified and traceability is maintained.
- Picking and kitting parts ready for production.
- Packing and distributing parts to the correct departments.
- Carrying out stock checks and assisting with annual stock takes.
- Managing stock transfers between sites.
- Liaising with production and other departments.
- Following FIFO stock rotation procedures.
- Using computer systems and stores equipment.
- Following all health & safety procedures.
Candidate Requirements:
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication skills.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Reliable, motivated and eager to learn new skills.
- Comfortable using computer systems.
- Previous stores, warehouse or fast-paced environment experience is beneficial but not essential.
- Willing to undertake training as required.
