A specialist design and manufacturing business working within retail-focused environments, delivering innovative display and product solutions for a wide range of commercial and consumer applications. The business operates across concept design through to production, supporting both UK and international clients with high-quality engineered solutions. Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for a Design Engineer to join the team in Loughborough.

This is a hands-on design role supporting the development of retail-focused and consumer-facing display and product solutions from concept through to manufacture. The position is open to both mid-weight and senior-level designers depending on experience. You will be working across a variety of materials and manufacturing processes, supporting design development through to production and installation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and produce 3D CAD designs using SolidWorks
  • Support design development from concept through to manufacture
  • Produce technical drawings, BOMs, and supporting documentation
  • Work across plastics, metals, timber, and composite materials
  • Support prototyping and product development activities
  • Liaise with internal production teams to ensure design feasibility
  • Where required, support client communication and design presentations
  • Collaborate with UK and overseas teams to deliver projects
About You

We are open to both mid-weight and senior designers with relevant industry experience. You will ideally have:

  • Experience in retail display, product design, or industrial design environments
  • Strong SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD capability
  • Understanding of manufacturing and production design processes
  • Ability to produce and interpret technical drawings and BOMs
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across teams
  • High attention to detail and practical design approach
Additional Experience (Beneficial, Not Essential)
  • Plastic fabrication, vacuum forming, or injection moulding
  • Sheet metal or timber fabrication knowledge
  • 3D printing or rapid prototyping experience
  • Exposure to ERP or manufacturing systems
  • Structural design awareness
  • Client-facing or presentation experience
