We are recruiting for a Quality Project Engineer to ensure high-accuracy components meet strict technical specifications and industry standards. You will work closely with production and suppliers to maintain quality, drive improvements, and support manufacturing processes.
- Develop quality plans, inspection techniques and work instructions
- Perform or oversee first article, in-process and final inspections
- Lead Measurement System Analysis (MSA) studies
- Analyse defects and manage non-conformances (NCR)
- Carry out root cause analysis using 8D and 5 Whys
- Identify process improvements to increase yield and reduce scrap
- Conduct supplier audits and manage supplier quality
- Ensure parts meet specifications using CMM and metrology equipment
About You
- Engineering qualification (HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent experience)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings including GD&T
- Experience within precision machining environments (CNC milling or turning)
- Experience using CMM and metrology equipment
- Knowledge of MSA, SPC and Gauge R&R
- Experience within high-precision manufacturing quality environments
- Strong CAD CAM software knowledge (PowerInspect, Inspection Manager, PC DMIS or Polyworks)
- Strong understanding of quality tools and process capability (MSA, capability studies, Lean Six Sigma)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team
Additional
- Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with ERP or MRP systems
- Understanding of 5S standards
- Strong communication skills across all levels
- Ability to support KPI targets across quality, cost and delivery
- Commitment to continuous improvement and ISO9001 standards
