A well-established architectural metalwork specialist based in the Coventry area is looking to add an experienced MIG Fabricator Welder to their growing workshop team. The business manufactures and fabricates structural and decorative metalwork including staircases and balustrades for commercial and residential projects. They pride themselves on producing high-quality finished work and maintaining a professional, supportive workshop environment.
The Job Role Position:
Due to continued growth and new project awards, the company is recruiting for an experienced MIG Fabricator Welder to join their fabrication team. The MIG Fabricator Welder will be responsible for full fabrication and welding of staircases, balustrades and structural metalwork from engineering drawings.
Responsibilities include:
- MIG welding mild steel and stainless steel
- Fabricating staircases, balustrades and handrails from drawings
- Measuring, cutting, marking out and tacking components
- Final weld-out and finishing to a high visual standard
- Working with box section, tube and plate
- Operating fabrication machinery including press brake and guillotine
- Using precision measuring equipment
- Maintaining workshop health and safety standards
This MIG Fabricator Welder role is hands-on and suited to someone confident working independently from drawings.
The Candidate:
The ideal MIG Fabricator Welder will have proven experience fabricating and welding staircases and balustrades within an architectural or structural metalwork environment. Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, measure accurately using metric and imperial equipment, and produce high-quality welds suitable for visible installations. Experience with press brake, plasma or tube bending machinery would be advantageous.
Licence/Certification Required:
- Relevant welding qualification advantageous
- CSCS card beneficial but not essential
