Derby (commutable from Derby, Burton upon Trent, Nottingham, Ilkeston, Long Eaton, Ripley, Belper, Ashbourne and surrounding areas).
Shift
Monday - Friday, Day Shift. Flexible working hours available.
Pay Rate / Salary
£18.00 - £20.00 per hour (Depending on Experience).

The Position
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC Miller who enjoys producing complex precision components rather than repetitive production work.
You will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines, taking components from raw material through to finished inspection while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines
- Producing one‑off and small batch precision components
- Using Edgecam CAD/CAM software
- Working with Heidenhain and/or Haas controls
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Manufacturing components to tight tolerances
- Carrying out first‑off and in‑process inspection using precision measuring equipment
- Completing routine machine maintenance and daily checks
- Working to production deadlines whilst maintaining exceptional quality standards
- Supporting continuous improvement within the machining department
Qualifications
- Experience programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines
- Edgecam CAD/CAM experience
- Knowledge of Heidenhain and/or Haas controls
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Experience producing precision components to tight tolerances
- Confidence using measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers and gauges
- A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Licences / Certifications
- Apprentice trained or time‑served CNC Machinist
- NVQ / City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing
- Edgecam programming experience
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing
