The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Representative to join an innovative business operating within the sustainable construction materials sector. You will help drive the adoption of pioneering low-carbon cement solutions, supporting the construction industry's transition towards Net Zero. This is an excellent opportunity to combine technical understanding with commercial business development while introducing sustainable building materials to the wider market.
The Role
Working as part of the commercial team, you will develop relationships across the construction and building materials sectors, supporting the growth of innovative cement solutions within selected UK regions. Your responsibilities will include:
- Identifying and developing new commercial opportunities.
- Building strong relationships with architects, structural engineers and contractors.
- Engaging with ready-mix producers and precast manufacturers.
- Promoting the technical and environmental benefits of low-carbon cement solutions.
- Supporting the adoption of sustainable materials within construction projects.
- Developing opportunities from initial contact through to commercial agreement.
- Working closely with internal teams to support the wider commercial growth strategy.
- Representing the business at customer meetings and industry events.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Business development or technical sales experience within construction, building materials or a related sector.
- An understanding of construction materials and specification-led sales.
- Experience building relationships with technical and commercial decision-makers.
- Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
- A proactive approach to identifying and developing new business.
- A genuine interest in sustainability and low-carbon construction.
- The ability to manage a regional territory and work independently in a hybrid and field-based role.
- Flexibility to travel across the UK and Ireland when required.
