The Job Role Position:
As a result of increased demand and long-term contracts, the company is expanding its milling team and is seeking an experienced CNC Miller - Programmer / Setter / Operator. You'll be responsible for taking jobs from drawing to finished component, programming directly at the machine using Fanuc controls, and machining a wide variety of parts in low to medium batch quantities. This is a role for someone who enjoys problem-solving, ownership, and technical variety.
Responsibilities include:
- Programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machines using Fanuc
- Writing and editing programs at the machine to suit each job
- Interpreting complex engineering drawings and tolerances
- Selecting tooling, workholding, and machining strategies
- Setting datums, offsets, and cutting parameters
- Machining a range of materials to tight specifications
- Inspecting components and maintaining high quality standards
- Supporting continuous improvement and process optimisation
The Candidate:
- At least 5 years' experience in CNC milling
- Proven background as a Programmer / Setter / Operator
- Strong working knowledge of Fanuc-controlled milling machines
- Confident machining varied, one-off and short-run components
- Quality-driven with a methodical approach to work
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of jobs
Education:
- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
Ability to Commute:
Must be able to commute to the CV9 area
Ability to Relocate:
Willing to relocate before starting work if required
