Our client: An established fabrication company making industrial products for a range of industries are currently recruiting for a Quality Paint Inspector to join their team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead internal audits throughout the audit cycle and drive continuous improvement activities in line with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
- Perform in-process checks for painting at every stage, including visual assessments, DFT, WFT, paint adhesion, and P.I.G tests.
- Ensure compliance with surface preparation processes, checking profiles in accordance with MTSP 187.
- Ensure the correct environmental conditions are maintained in the paint booth.
- Monitor, calibrate, and record all relevant equipment on QC forms, controlling calibration periods.
- Conduct incoming material inspections to verify compliance with specifications.
- Maintain full traceability of all quality records and ensure adherence to specifications.
- Perform final visual inspections, checking for damage, burrs, paint quality, and part markings.
Key Roles:
- Assist in the safe delivery of products, adhering to all relevant safety and quality guidelines.
- Prepare materials for the next stage in the process, ensuring accurate marking for welding and painting.
- Oversee paint material preparation, minimizing waste and ensuring correct volumes.
- Liaise with other departments to foster strong communication and collaboration.
- Ensure product release processes comply with customer specifications for the finishing area.
- Continuously look for ways to improve processes, increasing efficiency and product quality.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of QMS and ISO 9001:2015 standards.
- Relevant Qualification in BGAS or NACE.
- Proven experience in quality control within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate inspections.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous process improvement.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work across departments.
