Job Overview:
Our client is seeking a skilled Mould Tool Polisher to join their manufacturing business. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembly/disassembly of mould tools, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform manual grinding and milling operations with precision.
- Fit inserts and align shut-off surfaces between mould tool halves.
- Assemble and disassemble mould tools as required.
- Polish tooling inserts to meet high-quality finish standards.
- Drill cooling channels into mould plates according to specifications.
- Inspect finished products for defects, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.
Requirements
- Solid understanding of safe operation of toolroom machinery and equipment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong sense of pride in craftsmanship.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a toolmaking or similar precision manufacturing environment.
- Flexibility to work on a variety of projects as priorities shift.
- Ability to read and interpret both 2D and 3D engineering drawings is preferred.
- Competence in using precision measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, gauge blocks, and dial test indicators.
- Strong focus on quality and accuracy in all aspects of work.
- Good physical endurance and excellent manual dexterity.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations within a manufacturing setting.
- Capable of working independently as well as contributing effectively within a team environment.
