My client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to join their team within the precision engineering industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting customer data, preparing cost estimates, and working closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure accurate and competitive proposals.
Job Role Responsibilities:
- Interpret and analyse customer data to support estimating functions.
- Organise and format customer data for seamless processing and assessment.
- Liaise with customer engineers and buyers to resolve queries and ensure data accuracy.
- Issue Requests for Proposals to nominated suppliers for part cost assessments.
- Estimate labour hours for fabricated and machined parts.
- Engage with suppliers to obtain costs and lead times for treatments and subcontracted processes.
- Consolidate costs associated with Non-Recurring Costs, including tooling, jigs, fixtures, and engineering hours.
- Develop cost roll-up files for comprehensive total cost estimates.
- Recommend appropriate machinery for project packages in customer estimates.
- Assist in business case justifications and Return on Investment (ROI) evaluations.

- Previous experience within Precision Engineering
- Working with Microsoft Excel
- Good communicator with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Sound mathematics skills
