Our client is the UK subsidiary of a leading international technology group specialising in optical surface metrology and precision measurement solutions. Their advanced non-contact measurement systems are trusted by customers across manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, medical technology, electronics, research and academia.
Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Technical Sales Engineer to develop new business and support existing customers throughout the UK and Ireland. The Role:
Working on a hybrid schedule (2 days on the road, 1 day in the Coventry office, and 2 days working from the office or home if travelling distance is far), you'll promote and sell advanced optical surface metrology solutions to industrial, research and academic customers. You'll build relationships with new and existing customers, understand their measurement challenges, deliver technical demonstrations, prepare quotations and manage projects through to successful order completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop new business opportunities across the UK and Ireland
- Manage and grow existing customer relationships
- Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations
- Recommend the most suitable metrology solutions
- Prepare quotations and technical proposals
- Manage the full sales process from enquiry to order
- Maintain CRM records and sales forecasts
- Attend customer visits, exhibitions and industry events
About You:
Essential:
- Experience in Technical Sales, Sales Engineering, Applications Engineering or a similar technical customer-facing role
- Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or a related discipline
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Consultative sales approach and commercial awareness
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel across the UK and Ireland
Desirable:
- Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:
- Surface or dimensional metrology
- Scientific instrumentation
- Optical measurement or vision inspection
- CMM or precision measurement equipment
- Laboratory or testing equipment
- Manufacturing quality or inspection systems
