About the Company:

Our client is seeking an experienced Technical Joinery professional to take ownership of design, drawing production and technical surveying. This is a broad and influential role covering technical surveying, design development and the production of accurate drawings for both exterior and interior joinery projects. They are looking for someone who can take projects from initial technical input and site survey through to approved, manufacture-ready drawings. You will work closely with Estimators, Contracts Managers, Production Managers and experienced workshop teams to ensure every design is practical, accurate and suitable for manufacture and installation. A key part of the role will be helping the client transition from historic drawing methods to a professional CAD-based design process. They are looking for someone who can help shape the software, standards, templates and technical controls that will underpin the business's future technical capability. This is an excellent opportunity to join an exceptional business with a strong reputation for quality and craftsmanship. As they continue to invest in their growth, you'll play a key role in developing their technical design function while working alongside a capable, talented and supportive team that is committed to delivering outstanding bespoke joinery projects.

About the Role:

  • Carry out post-order site surveys for bespoke joinery projects.
  • Produce client approval, technical and manufacture drawings.
  • Design bespoke interior and exterior joinery, including windows, doors, fitted furniture and specialist joinery.
  • Interpret drawings, specifications and surveys to develop practical, manufacturable solutions.
  • Support estimating by preparing technical layouts and identifying design risks.
  • Coordinate drawing revisions, approvals and technical information.
  • Provide technical support throughout manufacture and installation.
  • Develop and maintain CAD standards, templates, libraries and revision control to improve consistency and efficiency.

About You:

  • Experience producing technical drawings for bespoke joinery, fitted furniture, timber windows and doors, or similar.
  • Strong CAD skills with the ability to produce approval and manufacturing drawings.
  • Sound knowledge of joinery, materials, manufacturing, installation and site surveying.
  • Able to interpret architectural drawings and challenge unclear or impractical information.
  • Detail-oriented with experience working closely with estimating, contracts, production and site teams.
  • Experience improving drawing standards, templates or technical processes is advantageous.
