Business Support Officer – Minute Taking (Children’s Services)

About the Role
Optima Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Business Support Officer to join Walsall Council’s Children’s Services Department.
This role plays a key part in supporting senior staff by providing professional minute-taking for high‑level meetings involving sensitive and confidential matters concerning vulnerable children and young people.
The successful candidate must demonstrate strong organisational, administrative, and communication skills, with a proven background in accurate and timely minute‑taking in a fast‑paced, confidential environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive minute‑taking support for meetings within Children’s Services.
- Ensure accurate recording of complex and sensitive information.
- Prepare, format, and distribute minutes and related documentation promptly.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times, adhering to data protection and safeguarding policies.
- Provide general administrative support as required by the service area.
Requirements
- Previous experience within local authority, social care, or public sector settings (desirable).

- Must be available for full‑time, on‑site work in Wednesbury.
- BPSS check and Basic DBS required prior to starting.
