Our client is an established Midlands‑based scaffolding contractor operating across residential, commercial and solar projects, with an annual turnover of approximately £1.5m. Role Overview
The Scaffolding Manager will work closely with the Director to oversee the day‑to‑day running of the business. This senior role is responsible for operational delivery, managing a team of 10–20 scaffolders, ensuring full health and safety compliance, and supporting business development through existing industry relationships and tender opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Director in the overall management and smooth operation of the business
- Plan, coordinate and oversee scaffolding projects across residential, commercial and solar sectors
- Manage labour, logistics, materials and scheduling to ensure safe, timely and cost‑effective delivery
- Lead and supervise a team of 10–20 scaffolders, including site visits and toolbox talks
- Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE regulations, including RAMS and site inspections
- Act as a point of contact for clients, inspectors and regulatory bodies
- Support tendering, pricing and client proposals, using existing industry contacts
- Provide regular operational and commercial updates to the Director
Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior scaffolding role (Manager, Supervisor or Contracts Manager)
- Strong knowledge of scaffolding regulations and best practice
- Experience managing teams across multiple projects
- SMSTS, or SSSTS with strong experience
- CISRS Advanced Scaffolder, or equivalent experience
- Commercial awareness with the ability to support business development
- Full UK driving licence
