Optima is recruiting on behalf of an innovative and rapidly growing technology business that delivers specialist software and learning solutions to organisations across the UK and internationally. Due to continued growth, we are seeking ambitious, driven, and commercially minded SDRs to join their Nottingham-based team. The Role

As an SDR, you will be responsible for generating new business opportunities and developing relationships with prospective clients. Working closely with the wider sales team, you will identify potential customers, engage decision-makers, and book qualified meetings that contribute to the company's continued growth. The business operates within the SaaS sector, providing innovative technology solutions to help organisations improve performance and achieve their strategic goals. Previous SaaS experience is advantageous but not essential. We are keen to speak with candidates who have a strong sales mindset, excellent communication skills, and a genuine desire to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and engage prospective business clients
  • Generate new sales opportunities through outbound calls, email campaigns, LinkedIn, and other business development activities
  • Qualify leads and understand customer requirements
  • Arrange appointments and demonstrations for senior sales colleagues
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline
  • Keep CRM records updated and accurately track activity
  • Work towards and exceed individual and team sales targets
  • Develop strong market knowledge and understanding of customer challenges

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in sales, business development, telesales, lead generation, SDR, BDR, account management, or another customer-facing commercial role
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confidence engaging with decision-makers and business leaders
  • Self-motivated and target-driven
  • Resilient, positive, and commercially minded
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A genuine desire to build a long-term career in B2B sales

Desirable

  • Experience within SaaS, technology, software, training, or professional services sector
  • Experience using CRM systems and sales engagement tools

Please note: SaaS experience is not essential. Full product and industry training will be provided for the right candidate.
